From the President

We are now in the second half of 2009 and time just keeps on flying. Most of us finally got some rain - some more than others, however every drop was appreciated. Thanks to the good Lord.

As you know we cancelled our second show due to lack of participation. The net cost to the club was less than $100 due to the arena manager discounting our fee.

After our board meeting in June we have also decided to cancel our August show. The decision was made to have a meeting for all members for the weekend of Friday, October 2nd, and Saturday, October 3rd, in Winnsboro at Sullivan Stables. We are planning for entertainment and a cookout on Friday evening. There are 12 trailer hook-ups as well as three bunkhouses for guests. (Anyone interested in one of the bunkhouses, should contact Wilma, Jessie, or myself.) One sleeps two, the second one sleeps three, and the third one four. We'll have riding Friday evening and Saturday. There are 30 stalls available. We need all members to attend to discuss the future of our club and plan for the election of officers for 2010. Anyone wishing to volunteer or nominate officers should send them to Buddy Savage.

Lets don't forget the Nick Cox Trail Ride in Bastrop on September 19th. Please contact Jimmy Christmas for details of the ride and camping. We hope to see you at the ride.
